Interior House Painting in Fort Lauderdale
Protecting House Surfaces
Cover up and masking is the first of several important steps. Our professional painter will masking off the baseboards and some other horizontals surfaces is important to protect against roller splatters. We use clean plastic to cover all furniture and canvasses to cover the floors. Hardware will need protection and in some cases must be removed. It is always important to cover thoroughly, so we won’t have to remove paint splatters later.
Preparing House Surfaces for Fort Lauderdale Weather
All holes and cracks must be filled with Spackle or caulking, being careful to match the existing texture. Excessively dirty surfaces must be cleaned before applying paint. Trim surfaces (doors and casings) need to be lightly sanded with fine sandpaper before application of paint. We also do wallpaper removal. In extreme cases, we will even texture the surfaces after removing the wallpaper.
Painting the Surfaces
Application on walls and ceilings typically is done with rollers with extension poles and brushes . Care must be taken to apply the paint evenly and with proper coverage to give a professional finished look. If you have popcorn ceilings, like many old Ft Lauderdale houses do, they typically are spray painted (in some cases rolling works too). Trim is typically done with brushes (some rolling and back-brushing) and/or HVLP spray for larger surfaces such as wainscoting. The best materials and tools, along with expert application ensure a great finished product.
Packaging the Surfaces
This process consists of inspecting all surfaces for “holidays” (missed areas). After the application of paint passes inspections, we unmask everything, remove the plastic from furniture and remove the canvasses from floors. All trash is removed and thrown away. We all admire the new paint job and move to next job. Call House Painter Fort Lauderdale today for your free estimate on your Interior House Painting.
